YD25′s replacement D40 Navara R51 Pathfinder Solid Cast 15KG Flywheel is manufactured from nodular cast iron. Nodular cast iron is the best material to use in a flywheel where the vehicle is used for everyday use. Compared with billet steel a flywheel made from nodular cast iron dissipates heat better, is unlikely to get blue or hot spots, and has better grip on the clutch plate. The flywheel is balanced to within 1 gram tolerance.

Most aftermarket steel flywheels have unhardened ring gears which eventually leads to ring gear failure. The ring gear used on our flywheel is a removable piece, this allows us to harden the gear reducing the wear caused by the starter motor during engine startup

To suit our solid flywheel we have made flywheel bolts. The bolts are made from 4140 steel which is stronger than the standard bolts. The bolts have a 19mm hex head compared to Nissan's star design for easier fitting. These bolts are made in Australia

At YD25.com.au we have developed the extreme clutch cover for the Nissan Navara and Pathfinder. This clutch cover has a clamp pressure of 1,400 kg (3,100 lb) compared to most aftermarket heavy duty clutch covers which have a clamp of 1,250 kg (2,800 lb). Our clutch cover has 40% more clamp than standard. The clutch cover has a nodular iron friction plate with a burst speed of 10,000 rpm. A properly balanced clutch cover reduces vibration. Our clutch covers are balanced by Grant from Brisbane Engine Balancing. We have balance weights made that are as low as 5 grams which allows the balance of the clutch cover to be within 3 grams.

The above clutch plate was designed for the Thailand D40 models from 2012. It was designed for use with a solid flywheel. The clutch plate is very similar to the D22 clutch plate used from 2000 on. The only visual difference is that it has slightly heavier springs to handle the higher torque of the D40 engine. It gives quiet operation at idle and when driving.
